The Drop DID Happen Today

It was too late for the Live Chat + Drop, but the daily domain drop DID happen today. Check the GoDrops.com feeds for those names from today on the home page and the Daily Report page…

More on this Later…

WHAT is Worth Developing?

That’s the question most on YOUR minds according to the latest GoDrops.com Poll. Well, I’ve got something up my sleeve that might help those who have the domains, but need a little help deciding which ones might be ripe for development. Stay Tuned!

In other news, eNom was at it again today, between them and Snapnames taking everything off the drop. If you ARE watching any of those names using GoDrops.com, then make sure your email is up-to-date in your profile! That’s where your drop notifications will go!

Upgrading GoDrops.com

I’ve just upgraded WordPress to 2.63 and everything seems to be running the same. Unfortuneatly “the same” means that uploading images still doesn’t work — not sure when this broke, but it was a couple weeks ago… :( That’s why I haven’t been including pictures in the posts…

Domainers are Naturally Into Local

WashingtonCherries.com dropped today and was picked up by someone from Washington state. I love that!. If a good local name dropped for my hometown, I’d probably get it too, if only to try and find someway break into local affiliate marketing.

DumpCenter.com was collected and TastyCuisine.com was reserved at Snapnames and now in Private Auction. eNom swept up for the THIRD straight day, so nearly everything else is being tasted right now. Members can see these names on the Daily Report Page.

Poll Closing Soon!

If you haven’t already done so, check out the current GoDrops.com Poll, “What’s Keeping You From Developing Your Domains“. I’ll be closing it soon… Looks like there’s simply a need to help domainers identify WHICH domains have development potential within their portfolios. No Problem! I’ve got a few ideas brewing for a site that will do just that… :)

We Thrill!

Yesterday was a good day of drops. Some highlights were: BrooklynBeach.com, StairHelp.com and SteakPlaces.com. A few VERY good ones are being tasted too, but you have to come to the Live Chat + Drop to track those… :)

To see what’s possible with these types of “local-search” names check out MybarTab.com — just amazing. I took DentalGrips.com.  Maybe I’ll market to SoftDentalGrips.com or setup my own store. Here are some other goodies that were left on the floor: Read the rest of this entry »

Top Movers!

Yesterday, CustomGravestones.com dropped and was snatched up by TopWebNames.com. BuyDomains took DeveloperService.com and uAspire.com. Someone using Brazil took RushDomains.com — a very cool domain portfolio name.

Another name that dropped a few days ago has found an End User today. MaineExplorer.com is now owned by someone from Waterville, ME. Nice one! It always make me feel good when this happens — would’ve made me feel even better if I had sold it to them, but I digress… :) Read the rest of this entry »

GoDrops.com and Advertisers

The GoDrops.com frontpage is NOT the typical Blog frontpage. There’s a lot of stuff going on here: Available Names Feed, Polls, Aggregate Feeds from the DropBuzz.com Network, Drop-Clock, the Feel Lucky Link, and a lot of other stuff…

A GoDropper during yesterday’s Live Chat + Drop suggested a few ways I could monetize this site better. One idea was to add a panel of 125×125 Text Link Ads. So, killing two birds, I’ve created a new Blog Page that has the typical “Blog Feel” and have added Text Link Ads to the sidebar — they won’t show up right away, maybe in a couple days they tell me, but I’ve added my own ads from Commission Junction there for now. Top Drops, Weekend Edition!

I’ll call this the Drop of the Week: it’s WeddingVillas.com caught by BuyDomains.com. Just a perfect name in my book. Other Names-of-Note: BadExamples.com, WyomingAtlas.com (mine!) and FindDinosaurs.com.

Here are some goodies still available: Read the rest of this entry »
