There was a problem today tagging the eNom catches as “tasted“. They’ve been tagged now and will show up on the daily report page and the member-watch page correctly.

As everyone probably knows, today GoDrops #1 went down causing the feeds during the Live Chat + Drop to sit suspiciously still. I received a DM tweet from a GoDropper about it, but didn’t get to fixing the problem until this afternoon — thankfully in time for eNom’s afternoon drops.

So, the problem had to do with the .com/.net WHOIS servers; they were being flaky not during opening connections or sending requests, but when receiving responses. My script was just hanging and NOT timing-out as it should have been doing…

I’ve fixed the problem my timing out in 5 seconds if WHOIS doesn’t respond. Things should be back to normal now.. whew!
