The Daily Report is Now Open

While we repair the user database, the Daily Report page has now been opened up to everybody. There you can see the goodies available to register after each day’s drop. There’s something wrong with today’s listing, but the previous days do work.

More fixes to come! Thanks for your patience while we upgrade GoDrops and prepare for the Grand Re-Opening coming up soon!

If you’re reading this, that means the move to the new server was a success! Somethings are still not working like Search and today’s Daily Report, but all in good time… tonight, GoDrops engineers will be working till the wee hours to get things back to normal.

Scheduled Down Time

To prepare for the grand re-opening of GoDrops.com we’ll be having some scheduled maintenance today. We’ll be updating nameservers, re-populating databases and installing a fresh copy of WordPress, all the fun things that come with a re-opening… =)

GoDrops.com will be down at some point today, but we’ll try to have it up for tomorrow’s domain drop! Hang In There!

Happy New Year everybody! GoDrops has already celebrated the east-coast Time Square ball drop (even though I’m west-coast), and drank enough celebratory brew to make him sleepy. Now if only the next door neighbors could turn the stereo down a few notches below “11″ all would be good…

Well, nothing a strong cup of coffee can’t cure. One thing it can’t cure though, is a twitter-banning! Instead of going for the hat-trick, I’ve decided to wade this one out and work with their support to get the original @godrops account raised from the dead. Let’s see how the next few days ago — I think I’m actually talking to a human now.

Best wishes to all for the coming year! Chef Patrick and I have some big things in store coming very soon. We’re looking at a January 15th release date for GoDrops 3.0 (in case you don’t know what 1.0 and 2.0 releases were, don’t worry, it’s not that important).

… and to the new partnership between Chef Patrick and GoDrops.com! Over the coming weeks, you’ll start to see some exciting changes here at GoDrops.com thanks to Patrick and his staff over at ChefPatrick.com. Being a one-man-show over the past couple years has been very rewarding and also very limits-stretching. I’d like to thank all the great domainers who have contributed to the site with helpful comments, bug-reports, and for the great camaraderie during the Live Chat + Drop that’s held everyday during the daily .COM and .NET domain drop. YOU are Awesome!

Stay tuned for some great changes, including but not limited to a new theme, actually using the membership list for a newsletter, premium member services and better access to other drops in other extensions.

Heavy Bidding on NNNN.com tomorrow at SnapNames

Tomorrow is the last day to join the auctions of nine NNNN.com domains at SnapNames. These are a great class of domains to have. A few past sales on NameBio.com show a $500 sales price, but you should probably check on NamePros.com for comps. Even if you do get some of these names at a max reseller price or slightly higher, the good thing is these names are very liquid. In a pinch, you can sell these very quickly for cash ( which is more than I can say for 99% of my keyword names ).
