It was registered today after it dropped, then I suppose the owner had second thoughts and deleted it again…

Well, if you’re in the industry, this name might make sense, but there’s really no mass consumer interest in purchasing Sauce Cups. The truth is that it’s TOO targeted and not in the right category — more of a B2B restaurant supplies/food services category. Even so, it’s still too specific… for my taste.

First off, I’m going to start using Twitter when individual strong names drop. Names drop all the time, like this one: Brushmart.com.

There are not that many names better than this if you want to setup an online art supply store or even for “virtual” Photoshop brushes.

Next, the big search box in the header has been moved down into to the sidebar list of available names, clearing up space for the Twitter announcement. I think people might confuse it with a WHOIS search or a search that goes through ALL the expired names. It doesn’t… just the ones I hand select.

I’m thinking about adding a LIVE CHAT during the daily drop as well. What do YOU think of that?

I would love to own a <city>.com name, but as I mainly catch only drops, I guess I’ll have to settle for their zip codes in .NET :) I do own a Manhattan <zip>.NET which I’m particually fond of though…

In other news, the name I had successfully backordered a few days ago (along with a cast of others) at Pool ended today at somewhere over $300. The name was QuickCharts.com. While it won’t make you rich on PPC, this is an extremely brandable and catchy name… Great Buy!

A HUGE domain dropped and was backordered with Snapnames today. The name is RealMoms.com. I had backordered it with Pool, but not with Snapnames… now it’ll be more work to find out how much it went for… :)

Everyone HAS to have a holiday-relevant domain name, so today did catch SickoShop.com. Can’t wait to get a shopping gallery live for things like faux-vomit, whoppie cushions, brains-in-a-jar, blood capsules, … you get the idea… :)

Oh, and I did actually backorder a domain at Pool and they came though! I’ll release the name as soon as the private auction is over… it’s a GREAT name! I wish Pool’s auction interface didn’t suck so much :(
