Had a little down time early today in the AM wee hours here, but now GoDrops.com is back up again, this time on Dedicated Hosting! Migration went pretty smooth, but if you see anything funny happening on the site, the migration is probably the culprit.

There have been reports of people having problems registering on this site… thanks to all who have provided the text of the error so I can debug this.
I’ve update the plugin responsible for the errors, so please try again to register if you ran into this error before… Thanks for you patience! 
After opening up the “my drop” page to allow YOU to fav domains before the daily domain drop, there was a flood of really crappy names coming through — good names too, but those less than desirable names I think were detracting from the site’s value.
So, I’m hiding those names that members have selected using the “my drop” page from the public domain lists and search, until I figure out a better way of separating the wheat from the chaff (maybe it’s not even possible). Member selected names will still be included in the 24/7 scanner and you’ll still get email notifications when/if they drop, so you’re really NOT losing anything…
So cheers everyone! — let’s hope for better drops in the near future and if Rick has any amount of prescience, then we’re in for some good times!
If you’ve come to the Live Chat + Drop lately, you’ll see some interface changes. Thanks to all the GoDroppers who provided feedback. Domans in the live feeds are now in a monospace font (which doesn’t work on a Linux laptop I have — let me know…) and .NET names are marked more clearly to not confuse them with .COM.
Also, I think the .NET names are getting good enough feedback that I can keep them in. The bar is much higher for .NET than for .COM, so only the most catchy brandables and generics will get in.

Something we did really early on here at GoDrops.com was to also watch tw0-word .NET domains. The lists are big enough with just .COM so we’ve been focused on that for a long time. But, for tomorrow’s drop, you’ll get to take a peek at the quality of the two-word .NETs dropping. I’ve just gone through some of them and, honestly, they’re not all that bad.

As much as I’d like you to buy ALL of your domain names at GoDrops.com, you CAN’T help but notice this one from Bido starting in just 12 days. ZJP.com will go on the auction block with no reserve and starting at only $1, but if you’re serious about getting it, don’t come without at least $5000 IMO…

Caution was blown out with the wind and a new theme has arrived here at GoDrops.com. I think everything is working, some things may be a little off, but I’ll get it in shape in time.
I’ve adapted the Arthemia Free Theme, adding another nav menu and removing most of the footer for now. Check it out, kick the tires, and comment here if something goes horribly wrong…
No one can just say that they’re a domain drop catcher ( Even though that DOES get me in the hottest clubs in L.A. ) My Alter Ego lives at http://dropbuzz.com and that’s where I talk about domain development.
