Streamlining the Picks

I use what ends up being a HUGE SQL query to pick out potential names to watch. The query grew over time to accommodate “hot” keywords, keywords found in recent high sales reported in the DN Journal, keywords I just happen to like, and other popular patterns…

After reviewing the query today, I found a lot of errors — keywords I thought were being scanned were actually not. So, I fixed those up and added a few more. And, well, tomorrow has some pretty good names dropping. I’m doing it both by hand (helped by my better coding) and using the D.R.T.

The D.R.T. did today’s drop and that didn’t stop people from registering a lot of names, but I do think the manual touch and review does make for a better drop list…
