Your Morning Zip

A few .NET US zip codes dropped recently so I thought I’d highlight them here and talk about zip code numeric domains in general. Here they are…

• 01077.net – Southwick, MA
• 36543.net- Huxford, AL
• 17577.net – Souderdburg, PA (NOT ANY MORE!)

My zip code database is OLD! It included 17577, which is no longer valid. Don’t blindly trust any zip code database as these change all the time. An official zip code lookup page is hosted at the United State Post Office website.

And, unless you actually live in one of these places above, DON’T BUY THEM. Population counts for nearly everything when considering random number zip codes NOT in DOT COM (i.e. not 10101 or something similar that has pattern-love).

There’s a reason why these zip code .NET names dropped and are STILL available…
