Names I Like #1

Here’s the first installment of a list of names that I’d think are good, and I’d *really* like to register them, but for whatever reason, I just don’t…

  • 07-2.com This category of name is SOLD OUT, but they are HOLDERS now, although you could instanly get a little more then reg free for this one now in the aftermarket.
  • EcoBurials.com “Eco” is hot and burials, well, someone is always needing that… This name seems a little more brandable than “green burials” which would be the generic. I can image a website selling cremation urns and offering a directory of green-burial providers…

Smaller Tasters #1

I monitor a lot of names 24/7 for nameserver, registrar and status changes. Sometime an update throws you a curve. Take StopBlog.com for example which has just become available. It was dropped by Melbourne IT and changed nameservers to *.trellian.com.

Not finding any domain parking or registry services on the Trellian site, doing a little more research learned that Trellian owns Above.com and it’s on *that* site where you can sign up for domain parking. You can see an example of their parking landing pages at babysittersguide.com.

At first I didn’t think the name was being tasted, because it was registered at Moniker (just like other Trellian-owned names), but they did drop the name after 4 days…

Geography Schools

I don’t know how much money is spent by college students going for geography degrees, but I image it’s quite a lot of money — and I bet a lot of money is spent by the schools advertising their programs. What better place to go for information than GeographySchools.com? I can think of no other… :)

Is it Shoes or Apartments?

SmartFlats.com, a great domain for marketing shoes OR if you’re anywere other than the United States, finding the right apartment. Well, if one doesn’t work then at least you can try the other one…  Shoes or Apartments, mmmm…

Protect Your Investments!

Learn how at MarketProtection.com! No, “market protection” is not about finding the best umbrellas and easy-ups for your outdoor market sale, but it *is* for learning how to protect yourself in these difficult financial times…

A great keyword combo, IMO. An average Google search volume of 2900, with the most popular long-tail being “stock market protection” and just a applicable to “housing market protection”.

DungeonTalk.com

What a fantastic name for fantasy role-playing enthusiasts! This one dropped June 21st and has been lying around ever since. Perfect for setting up a forum or chat software. Or, where else would a DM give a weekly podcast from… why from DungeonTalk.com of course!

Oh, how I’d like to register this name! I’ve already got DungeonGames.com and DungeonGuide.com. Well, I’ll turn my head for a couple days…

I've Got Gas

Well, sort-of. I’ve registered G–A–S.com after a taster’s recent drop. L-L-L.com names are pretty hot now, averaging $30-40 aftermarket sales (they are all sold out). May not seem like much, but they are very liquid names right now and that can’t be said for a lot of names.

Will double hyphens do as well with three letter dictionary words? We’ll see!

Moving to Europe for Cheap Healthcare

Just kidding… but I did need a title for this montage of drop catches. How about a European capital + “guide”, LjubljanaGuide.com. Perhaps they’ve got Cheap-Healthcare.com and it looks pretty good, so I’ll tell all my friends and family using i-Moved.com. Maybe I’m regging too many names with dashes, but they are meaningful and keyword worthy, no?

67368.com

As you may know, 5-digit dot com or NNNNN.com names have been bought out. This is one I happen to catch on a taster’s drop and I’m putting it up for sale on eBay. Looking at forum sales and sales that occur on eBay are educational, especially for upcoming and speculative names such as these. Bid in this auction or just watch it and see how it goes…

N-O-T-E.com

Registered another hyphenated domain today, n-o-t-e.com. Maybe I can turn this into a note-passing social application, or copy-n-paste utility…
